Tengo 15 años viviendo en la calle y sufrir por no tener trabajo y no tener familia. Así es como he conocido muchas personas con la misma situación o parecida a la mía. Espero que algún día pueda resolver mi situación y tener tranquilidad en mi vida. Extraño mucho a mi familia y a mis hijos pero no los he visto por estar a punto de estar en la calle.
I've been living on the streets for 15 years, suffering from unemployment and having no family. This is how I have met many people in the same or similar situations. I hope that one day I can resolve my situation and have peace in my life. I miss my family and my children very much, but I haven't seen them since I've been on the verge of becoming homeless.

I have a friend named (Lindsay) who has a condition called congestive heart failure. One of the things that happens with this condition is swelling of the extremities. I also have a condition that causes similar swelling. Due to an injury so, with that being said, I came to visit my friend and we decided to take off our shoes and sit on the curb in the sun. We were in Fresno Ca and there is a team called the Heart team that is supposed to go around and help “homeless” people relocate to shelter. NOw what they are commissioned to do as officers of the law brought to be in a special unit with a specific purpose of “helping the homeless”. What their help is, is strong arm robbery and assault. They pull up with a dump truck as officers of the law… you with physical violence and arrest the homeless. This incident was a direct reflection of abuse of power. So …I said my friend and I were sitting on the curb in front of a private business who had given us permission to be in front of their restaurant. My friend…was sitting on the curb with shoes off and the “heart” (hurt) team arrived. I was told to “get the fuck up” by an officer of the Fresno PD who was riding shot gun. In the hump truck another officer got out of the pick up truck the.. And said and I quote “didn’t you hear me bitch get the fuck up”. I did not move. I was then grabbed by my …and …and jerked to my feet. My friend Lindsay saw what was happening and tried to stand. another officer made a move towards here while the third officer grabbed our purses and shoes and threw them in the dumpster. MY friend tried to grab the one bag she had containing cans she was going to turn in. She was pushed from behind by the third office, a corporal denoted by the stripes on his uniform. That cop pushed her so hard she fell and landed on her face losing her 3 front teeth. They also took the cans and threw them in the trash. They then ticketed us for not having ID. And informed us if we were on the property that was owned by the City of Fresno we were trespassing. Now what happened was bad. However it gets way the fuck worse. We have got to stop the abuse of power and perversion of the law

Tengo una amiga llamada Lindsay que tiene una condición llamada insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva. Una de las cosas que sucede con esta condición es la hinchazón de las extremidades. Yo también tengo una condición que causa una hinchazón similar. Debido a una lesión, así que, dicho esto, fui a visitar a mi amiga y decidimos quitarnos los zapatos y sentarnos en la acera al sol. Un oficial del Departamento de Policía de Fresno que iba de copiloto me dijo que me levantara de una vez. En la camioneta, otro oficial se bajó y dijo, y cito: “¿No me oíste, perra? ¡Levántate de una vez!”. No me moví. Entonces me agarraron de mi… y… y me levantaron bruscamente. Mi amiga Lindsay vio lo que estaba pasando e intentó ponerse de pie. Otro oficial se acercó mientras el tercer oficial agarraba nuestros bolsos y zapatos y los tiraba al contenedor. Mi amiga intentó agarrar la única bolsa que tenía con latas que iba a entregar. El tercer oficial, un cabo, identificado por las rayas en su uniforme, la empujó por detrás. Ese policía la empujó tan fuerte que se cayó de cara y perdió sus tres dientes delanteros. También se llevaron las latas y las tiraron a la basura. Luego nos multaron por no tener identificación. Y nos informaron que si estábamos en la propiedad que pertenecía a la ciudad de Fresno, estábamos invadiendo propiedad privada. Lo que sucedió fue malo. Sin embargo, la cosa se pone mucho peor. Tenemos que detener el abuso de poder y la perversión de la ley.

Well, my opinion, as of the last couple of years on this topic, stays the same. HOusing first, what one uses .. for whatever reason, their responsibility …

I’ve been through the shady system since being a teenager due to my parents heavy heroin addiction- I was blessed with land; a curse too) best of “both worlds”. I lived & grew up with mom & dads on Offarell & Larkin but was blessed with an awesome education. I attended Catholic school my entire life due to Grandma being wealthy. When I was growing up- a restate agent- she lived at the top of Pacific Heights. I'm writing about something I want to say. I’m grateful for and can’t forget to say how grateful I am - truly. A few months ago I found myself once again homeless, living in my mini coup- I was smoking Fentanyl! I was sick & tired of living like that - I was mocking Fent -for 8 yrs. I decided to go to jail on purpose after many attempts at detoxing out here. I hadn’t been to jail in 8+ years and I knew it was what was needed to stop - Handcuffs, sad to say. I stayed for 14 dyas . My dog went to a dog jail.. I've been clean now- 90 days on the 15th of month - I was helped several times by tiny and I can’t say how much it meant-keeping me safe inside-after jail I was stuck homeless NO CAR! - I found a place called hummingbird Valencia and have lived there now 2 ½ months-I’m doing great- my housing voucher was …I’ll be moving as soon as I get my place! I owe a big thanks to tiny and Hmbrd-Valencia. They offer food, hot food, showers, tv…to chill, computer access its a great place.
Mi nombre es Pamela Bullock. Soy nativo de San Francisco de quinta generación. He pasado por el sistema turbio desde la adolescencia debido a la fuerte adicción a la heroína de mis padres. Tuve la bendición de tener tierras (una maldición también), lo mejor de "ambos mundos". Viví y crecí con mis padres en Offarell y Larkin, pero tuve la bendición de una excelente educación. Asistí a una escuela católica toda mi vida porque mi abuela era rica. Cuando era niño, ella era agente inmobiliario y vivía en la parte alta de Pacific Heights. Estoy escribiendo sobre algo que quiero decir. Estoy agradecido y no puedo olvidar decir lo agradecido que estoy, de verdad. Hace unos meses me encontré de nuevo sin hogar, viviendo en mi pequeño apartamento. ¡Estaba fumando fentanilo! Estaba harto de vivir así. Estuve consumiendo fentanilo durante 8 años. Decidí ir a la cárcel a propósito después de muchos intentos de desintoxicarme aquí. No había estado en la cárcel en más de 8 años y sabía que era lo que se necesitaba para parar. Esposas, tristemente. Me quedé 14 días. Mi perro fue a una perrera. Llevo 90 días sobrio desde el día 15 del mes. Tiny me ayudó varias veces y no puedo expresar lo mucho que significó para mí mantenerme a salvo. Después de la cárcel, me quedé sin hogar ¡sin coche! Encontré un lugar llamado Hummingbird Valencia y llevo viviendo allí dos meses y medio. Estoy muy bien. Mi subsidio de vivienda fue... ¡Me mudaré en cuanto consiga mi lugar! Le debo un gran agradecimiento a Tiny y a Hummingbird Valencia. Ofrecen comida, comida caliente, duchas, televisión para relajarse, acceso a computadoras, es un lugar genial.

Housing is a human right. Housing is recovering. Recovery from Homelessness. From Loss. Housing needs in SF should not be pivoted against each other.
We have a housing crisis. Housing first helps people have stability. This stability is vital to overcome addictions in life that can lead us to use substances to cope.
Supervisor Matt Dorsey wants to create a new form of city funded housing-that evicts tenants for drug use in permanent Supportive Housing. These proposed changes can cause more evictions and isolation to getting support. I believe as someone who is still recovering from homelessness and a child of parents who used drugs getting housing was always and is always the problem. The rents in SF are way too high. A 1 bedroom right near City Hall is over $4,000 dollars, where the ordinances, the po folks don’t always have options. PSA became the only option. When PSA has conditions of drug free it is not meeting people where they are at. Reduction support groups and contingency inside of PSH is meeting people where they are at. Saturday Night I’m Alive and Supportive Housing Prevention Network currently is providing the community with education and resources. Housing First is the path to recover. Community is the hope to overcome.

La vivienda es un derecho humano.El sector de la vivienda se está recuperando. Recuperación de la falta de vivienda. De la pérdida. Las necesidades de vivienda en San Francisco no deberían plantearse de forma contradictoria.
Tenemos una crisis de vivienda. El programa "Vivienda Primero" ayuda a las personas a tener estabilidad. Esta estabilidad es vital para superar las adicciones que pueden llevarnos a consumir sustancias para sobrellevar la situación.
El supervisor Matt Dorsey quiere crear una nueva forma de vivienda financiada por la ciudad que desaloja a los inquilinos por consumo de drogas en Viviendas de Apoyo Permanente. Estos cambios propuestos pueden causar más desalojos y aislamiento para obtener apoyo. Creo que, como persona que aún se está recuperando de la falta de vivienda y como hijo de padres que consumían drogas, conseguir vivienda siempre fue y sigue siendo un problema. Los alquileres en San Francisco son demasiado altos. Un apartamento de una habitación cerca del Ayuntamiento cuesta más de 4000 dólares, donde las ordenanzas y la gente de la oficina de empleo no siempre tienen opciones. Las Viviendas de Apoyo Permanente se convirtieron en la única opción. Cuando las Viviendas de Apoyo Permanente tienen como condición que no se consuman drogas, no se adaptan a las necesidades de las personas. Los grupos de apoyo para la reducción del consumo y la asistencia en caso de necesidad dentro de las Viviendas de Apoyo Permanente sí se adaptan a las necesidades de las personas. Saturday Night I’m Alive y Supportive Housing Prevention Network actualmente brindan a la comunidad educación y recursos. Vivienda Primero es el camino hacia la recuperación. La comunidad es la esperanza para superar.
