Freedom From Palestine to Turtle Island: Tiny's Talk at Beyt Tikkun's Yom Kippur Gathering
tiny (lisa) gray-garcia aka “PovertySkola” and co-founder of POOR Magazine was invited to speak at Beyt Tikkun's 2026 High Holiday (Yom Kippur) services. Beyt Tikkun says in their description of the event, "We believe that a Judaism Beyond Zionism calls us not to look elsewhere for belonging or liberation, but to root deeply where we are: cultivating presence, telling the truth, grieving what is broken, celebrating what is beautiful, and transforming our spiritual practice into action." In her talk, tiny weaves these ideas together, speaking about how liberation in Palestine is deeply connected to liberation on Turtle Island and the liberation of poor/houseless folks, too.
