A breeze for Mark

There was a small breeze that crawled through the graveyard in Vallejo, California. It seemed that that breeze was honoring along with us the amazing man Mark Flaherty who died January 28, 2016 at the age of forty-seven. When we got to the site of the funeral we saw a group of people spread out and waiting for the hearse.

Mario Woods Reflection

On December 2, 2015 a young 26 year old African American named Mario Woods was shot dead by police in the Bay view district. It was a tragic day for the young man's family and community, but one thing I want to let you readers know is that this has been happening non stop all over the world.

Students March to City Hall for Mario Woods

This story all started on December 2, 2015. A man named Mario Woods was killed at the age of 26. He was killed in a cold blooded murder. They said that Woods had a weapon in his hand but really he did not. So that is why Deecolonize Academy went to the march down in the Mission in San Francisco, a place that is ugly and beautiful all in the same.

"One of the main issues in life I think we should be paying attention to is the mental destruction of Black (so-called African American) culture. Life itself is a whole different experience in the eyes of the inner city Black youth. The problem is not money, nor is the problem "education". The problem is the lack of culture. Now in these times the majority of Black people adapt to life, making their own culture. These cultures deprive from the mental progression of Black youth, leaving them in a state of immaturity.
