The Herstory of HOMEFULNESS

After generations of poverty, racism, houselessness, displacement, gentrification, redevelopment, im/migration, and struggle the multi-racial, landless, indigenous families, youth, elders, ancestors, migrant and disabled scholars that lead POOR Magazine are finally able to culminate a 15 year long vision called HOMEFULNESS –a true solution to Homelessnes...s- a sweat–equity, co-housing project which includes an on-site café, multi-generational school, community garden and media training center

Interdependence Community Cook-out and Land Ceremony will feature Inter-tribal Prayer Ceremony and Land Blessing, Free Food, Hip Hop, DJ Sake 1 spinning soundz, Art, Spoken word/Poetry as well as education from land resistance movements from Sogorea Te & across turtle Island, resources and fun for the whole family!

What Is Inter-Dependence Day?

A day to challenge the myth/cult of independence promoted by Amerikkkan bootstraps lies that work to separate and deconstruct indigenous and cultural practices of sharing, love and care-giving. Inter-Dependence day seems like the perfect way to begin a relationship with this land and community

Event is co-sponsored by POOR Magazine/Prensa POBRE/ Tough House Project and the San Francisco Bay View Newspaper
