I am a mother of two kids.  This is a short history of how I ended up utilizing the Community Jobs Program.  My husband and I were both jobless and after countless times of applying at many restaurants we were left waiting and hoping only to find out that they weren't hiring.  My husband and I are responsible and hard working people.  We turned to the Community Jobs Program after the food stamps we were receiving weren't enough to feed the family.  We were also in a position where we were not able to pay the rent.  We went to Calworks and they helped us find a job.

I feel strongly that the senator of California not only keep and extend the Community Jobs Program but fund it even more because the little bit we receive for all the work we do still is not enough.  The cancellation of the program would mean joblessness for myself and my husband.  The reason we want the program is not because like some say that we are lazy but because we want to work no matter what the work what is most important is that we are working.  We are Latinos and we do any work and we don't complain.  We are NOT lazy!
